Jake Davey—
Co-written in Nashville with Tyler Bank, No Good for Me dives headfirst into the back and forth of wanting something you know isn’t good for you. Wrapped in moody pedal steel, big drums and roaring guitars, the song captures the emotional whiplash between clarity and temptation, sitting comfortably in the space between heartache and addiction.
“No Good for Me focuses on the tension of wanting something you know you should walk away from but never quite can,” Jake explains. “The song explores that push and pull between clarity and blurred lines, where doing the right thing feels simple in theory, but impossible in practice.”
Produced, mixed and mastered by Jake himself, the track features Travis Toy on pedal steel and Alex Wright on keys, Jackson James on guitars and Rhys Zacher on drums.
Apart from his own releases, Jake has become one of the most in-demand creative names working behind the scenes in Australian country music. Through photography, videography, audio production and content creation via his Jake Davey Studios, he continues helping other artists bring their vision to life, mirroring the same work ethic and creative drive that have fuelled his rise as an artist in his own right.
Now entering a new creative chapter, No Good for Me feels like the sound of an artist fully locked into who he is, emotionally raw and sonically fearless.
