Sally Jane—
With her warm country storytelling, Western Australian artist Sally Jane has released her new single, Fishing Taught Me Patience. The song reminds us that some of life’s greatest lessons are found in the simplest moments.
Inspired by time spent on the water, Fishing Taught Me Patience uses fishing as a metaphor for slowing down, embracing patience, and appreciating the world around us.
“Yes, it sounds clichéd, when you go fishing you practise patience, but I really think we need to start practising it in everyday life. ‘People are rushing around, we’re running out of small towns’ is probably my favourite line of the song and I see that with all the touring that I do, we are running out of small towns and that small town personality within people. This is a reminder to myself and to listeners to slow down and take a break from the busy lives and look around,” says Sally.
